#1 Quantum-Corrected and Hairy Black Holes via Analogue Gravity [PDF] [Copy] [Kimi] [REL]

Author: Christian Noberto de Souza

This thesis maps two exotic black-hole geometries onto the transonic flow of a de Laval nozzle and reads their perturbative response in aerodynamic variables. The first is the hairy black hole of gravitational decoupling, constrained by the dominant energy condition and by the existence of a horizon. The second is the Calmet-Kuipers metric, short-ranged and governed by the single Wilson coefficient of the dimension-six operator that the two-loop Goroff-Sagnotti divergence identifies. Perturbations of spin 0, 1/2, 1 and 2 reduce to a Schrödinger-type wave equation, whose spectrum the Mashhoon method returns as a whole overtone tower in closed form, every frequency damped. The two corrections are distinguished by which channel responds and by how strongly all of them do, the quantum coupling moving the quality factor by up to 37% in the scalar and Dirac channels and by about 10% in the other two, while the hair acts on every channel alike. Identifying the two tortoise coordinates turns the equality of the potentials into a Sturm-Liouville problem, so that the prescribed barrier fixes the wall profile and with it the flow variables and the thrust coefficient. The hair is felt across the whole divergent section, whereas the quantum correction registers only near the throat and grows as the inverse fourth power of the mass, which confines it to primordial black holes. The analogy is kinematical, so the duct reproduces the scattering of perturbations off these geometries without reproducing the field equations behind them.
