We note that the hadronic contributions to $a_e$ and $a_μ$ are strongly correlated, which potentially allows one to reduce the uncertainties associated with higher-energy contributions (and address the current discrepancy between lattice and data-driven evaluations) by improved measurements of $a_e$ and the fine-structure constant.
